Information for Webmasters

First of all - if you have an own web site for your church or your youth group - keep it up! You do an important work to contribute in the gospel commission to spread the word! Continue using your gifts and skills to design and create your individual church web page.
I'm sure you noticed the difficulty to keep the content of your web page current - especially getting events added and removed - and it makes harder if the web site is of static nature.
We want to help you getting your site current - in particular the events you have in your youth/young adult group. See For Youth Leaders how you can get an account to change calendar entries.
I'm sure you're wondering why create a web page and have the calendar info on another server. The reason is quite simple - so you can have a calendar, which multiple people can edit (without HTML knowledge) and you can hand this off to the Youth leaders and give you more time to create the "more interresting" stuff :-)
In summary, you have three ways to embedd the calendar feature from our site:
1. create a frame and include part of the snecyouth.org web page on your site.
2. create a link on your web site to open a new window displaying the calendar information
3. (and this I like most) Create a template similar to your web site on our server. In this template you can include placeholders, which will be used to embedd the calendar in this form.
Details how to do this on this web site will follow shortly. Right now we use frames for our web site, but it will change in a few weeks to a portal environment (and have a much better layout as well). For the Calendar, there are two formats possible - a normal calendar view or a list of events in a table or similar. It is highly flexible, so you can format the calendar information in a way you prefer and use a similar layout to your web site.
