Information for Youth Leaders
Have you ever wondered what is going on in other youth groups?
Have you planed big events and wanted to share it with other youth groups to increase attendance (and maybe your own budget)?
Did you ever think about a community of several youth groups to share ideas?
Have you ever posted events on the internet and had trouble keeping the data up to date?
Wouldn't it be nice to have a solution to all these problems?
The time has come!
With snecyouth.org we have a community to share all this and address the most pressing issues. This web site is a community to share events, ideas or communicate in whatever way.
www.snecyouth.org offerings:
All of the offerings below are free for each youth or young adult group in Southern New England, who are member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The costs for running this website will be covered by the various federations.
- one dynamic calendar for your youth group. It allows you to create, modify and delete calendar entries on the fly with your internet browser.
- up to 5 forwarding e-mail addresses for your youth group.
- up to 3 web pages for your youth group with dynamic calendar capabilities
- 1 login and password to administer the content
You don't need to know how to create web pages or have computer knowledge to use these features. If you know how to use web based e-mail programs (like hotmail.com) - you know how to create Calendar events on this site!
What do I need to do?
To get a login, contact Andreas Goelzer at webmaster@snecyouth.org to get an account for this site to be able to create calendar entries. Please provide following information:
- your name
- your Churches name
- your churches location (Street, City, State)
- your position you hold in the church (i.e. youth leader, bulletin secretary, pastor)
- your e-mail address
- your churches web site (if you have one)
- your youth group web site (if you have one)
Most likely you want to include the calendar into your churches web site - see details under "For Webmasters".
Also you want to promote the web site in your youth group. Right now we focused on functionality first and work on the design and layout later (The Web Site started beginning of Nov 2003, so it is still growing :-) ). Let them know that all the information is there and that they can collaborate with each other in the Forum. This Forum is for everyone to use and they can register themself right on the web site and can contribute right away!
Another part is - keep the events current. With the login you get, you can share the ID and password to everyone who needs to keep the calendar up to date. We also make it easy for you to create forms to your needs (Layout, Format), so you can print and share your events either on your existing web sites or print them and distribute in the format you prefer.
Inform your webmaster of your churches web site to add a link to this web site and have him contact webmaster@snecyouth.org to find out how to make each other lifes easier.
